My name is James, I am a baking and coffee addict. Phew I am glad I got that off my chest!
I am proud to announce that I am one of the 12 bakers in series 8 of the Great British Bake Off. GBBO
When not baking I can often be found lost in Pinterest looking for new ideas or glued to Food Network. If I can pull myself away from “research” and I am not in the office doing my day job, I can be found be having fun with the family, walking the dog, down the allotment, feeding the chickens or finding a new cafe to have a sneaky coffee and cake in.
My wife may call me a serial hobbyist but two hobbies I have never lost the passion for are baking and photography. Here on my little blog I can put both to good use and hopefully inspire you to pop back in the kitchen to have fun baking with the family, making something for that special someone or just treating yourself.
Whilst I Iove challenging myself by making complex and tricky bakes to stretch my experience, at the heart of my baking is a fascination on what delights can come out of a kitchen with some very basic ingredients: flour, sugar, eggs, fat and yeast. With a rummage in the cupboard and a tweak of some basic recipes you can have a whole universe of baking opportunity, ever expanding and only limited by your own imagination. The mind map below took barely a few minutes of thought. Sorry I am a project manager by trade so I love a diagram!
On the blog I will share my favourite recipes, my foodie escapades and my search for the perfect cappuccino. I hope you will join me and stay with me on the journey.
